Monday...

I must admit...I've been feeling a bit uninspired lately...

We leave for the beach this weekend so hopefully a little break will do me good!

Hubby and I spotted this coffee table on the side of the road for $5...all it needed was some off white paint, a crystal nob, and some love...take a look...

 Some furniture pieces had to be moved around...the old trunk is now at the foot of our bed and this bench got moved downstairs by Lucy's room.  It's a little full but it works.  I need to make a couple more pillows to add more color.

 Lucy is such a wonderful happy dog!

We came home Saturday to her limping...of course we started to worry but after talking to some other dog owners we have come to realize that it might be growing pains...who knows...it makes me feel better to think that's all it is :)
Have a great week!

Bathroom Update & Happy 4th...

Happy 4th of July...hope you have a safe and fun holiday!

I have been itching to lighten up the downstairs bathroom...my friend Molly let me sample the color she uses in her home...Silver Sage from Restoration Hardware.  She had it colored matched at a local market and it turned out great!  I love this color!  It really brightened up this small space. Don't get me wrong...the color we had in there before was beautiful...I just wanted a different look.
 It looks really crisp against the white beadboard...
 Green goes well too...
 The insides of this cabinet {my dad made years ago...don't you just love it!?!} were unfinished so I got out some paint...looks a lot brighter and finished now.
 Love this stool my dad made for the girls...it is another piece of furniture that gets used multiple times a day {thanks dad!}
 Lucy went in for her shots last week...she is growing like a weed...16 1/2 pounds!
Grammy bought the girls new robes/swim cover~ups to use after swimming...they have been wearing them everyday :)

Finished dining room chairs...

Before leaving for the beach I finished painting the last two dining room chairs.  I'm so happy to have that project completed!  It's amazing what a big difference the all white chairs make in the space.
 love the white!

 don't pay attention to the junk on the floor...{I swear I just vacuumed yesterday!}
Beanie asked me yesterday if I would take her picture and post it on my blog...those were her exact words...how sweet...of course I said yes!

Hi...I'm still here...

Hi!  Sorry for my absence...I have been dealing with two sick little ones {I'm very tired!} It is no fun sleeping in a twin bed with a toddler that is a bed hog!

Anyhoooooo...funny story...we bought a nice/expensive {hubby's idea} Nikon camera over a year ago and still have not figured out how to use it.  All the pictures I have posted of our house have been taken with a little cheap~y camera {that I know how to use...can't knock it too much}  So, I finally decided to bring out the  fancy camera {none of them have been photo shopped...that is still to come} and give it another try...tell me what you think...

 I {heart} this fan!
 Yes...fake flowers...shame on me!

 I painted the stool again...wasn't loving the yellow
 The top of the tv cabinet is changed once again...{I do this kinda stuff all the time}

 We painted the mirror above the bed and I love it!!!  A nice soft blue/gray
I have been sewing a ton!  I have more pics of the craft room and the goodies I have been making...I will get those posted soon!  Thanks for stopping by...

Busy with home Projects!

Hi!  We have a full weekend of catching up on house projects!  Since the drapes are at the cleaners we are finally going to finish painting to crown molding that we put up last year {we are aware that we are 80% ers...haahaa}  It will be so nice to have that project finished!!!

 I decided that the white chairs I just painted needed to be distressed a little more and I'm very pleased with the outcome!  I applied a little more pressure with the palm sander and took it down to the natural light wood {instead of the almost black wood} Looks much better!

Next up hubby and I will be making a fabric headboard for our bed  :)  We went to the fabric store last night and picked up some supplies.  Next is the trip to Home Depot then we can begin...can't wait to show you!

Last week I picked up a sample size of Martha Stewart paint {cornbread}and used it on the kitchen stool.  I have applied one coat and will add one more than distress a tad...here it is with one coat...

I made some changes to our guest bedroom...it is now a sewing/craft/guest bedroom.  I had been storing all my sewing supplies in the downstairs cabinet and setting it up on the dining room table when I needed {got to be a pain in the bum} so now it is always out and ready for when the mood hits :)  Here are a few pics... I have a few more things to change around but thought you might like to see a peek...

The pictures don't do it justice...looks a lot better in person!  You get the idea...  Have a great weekend!

New/Old Soap Pump...

I have had a couple of these antique blue jars for awhile, I got them with the intention of turning them into soap dispensers.  Mr. Fix~it had some free time this weekend so I told him about my plans...he went straight to work :)  What do you think?
This is our master bath...love the light blue with the natural counter tops!

This is the first one... more to come :)
I also got the second coat on the white chairs...will try to wait til tomorrow to start distressing {I'm very impatient}  :)  Will post pics as soon as they are finished!

Painting...again...

I finally started painting the two dinning room chairs {opposite the white bench}...here are a few before and in progress photos.  I like the dark wood but it is really hard to keep clean, you would think it would be easy to manage but it's not!  It shows all the dust, dropped crumbs and scratch marks.  I did a light sanding with the palm sander, a coat of primer, and two coats of paint.  After the last coat is dry I will do a light distressing then spray a clear coat to help them withstand two little ones :)

{before}

 {after first coat of paint}

Will post the finished pics tomorrow!  Have a great Sunday!

Master Bedroom Changes...

Here is the cabinet I painted over the weekend...still loving the halcyon green!  And yes those are fake flowers...I have a sickness I tell you...  :)

 My cherished pictures {thanks molly!}
 The girls love jumping on the bed!  If only I wasn't so OCD about it!  :)
 We got new lampshades...I won't even show you the ones we had before {let's just say they had beads and I've already said too much!}
Plus we finally found bedding that we both liked!  Amazing I know... we still need to find white pillow shams to complete the look... and maybe an actual bed {head & foot board} that will have to come later...much later...hubby informed me last night that he wants to buy a friends vw bug that he is selling {I actually cried when he told me...didn't help my cause} this thing sounds horrific!  But...hubby deserves/needs a project so I will be the supportive wife!  I love you my amazing hubby!

Happy Monday!

We had a busy but great weekend!  I just love my hubby!  He took me to get some new clothes {amazing huh...?}  I have been in need of new clothes for a long time... my wardrobe consists of yucky grandma sweaters, sweatshirts, and t~shirts that somehow all have holes in them {stupid counter tops!}  One of the only down sides of being a stay at home mom is that you start to get a little frumpy!  The kids aren't old enough to tell you that you look like crap {yet...}, you have no work dress code, the only place you are seen is at preschool and Target :) and they're not saying anything!  So, I have made a vow to try to take better care of my appearance {for myself, the girls and hubby}!  I'll keep you posted!

 Beanie took this pic :) {looks like I need new jeans too...}
 Grammy wanted to see the girls' cute pig tails
 Yes...bird is in her swimsuit
 I also painted to downstairs vanity white...phewwww I'm done painting for awhile!
Hope you all had a great weekend too!  Have a great Monday!

I'm in love... {with paint}

I'm in love with this paint color {halcyon green}!  I just applied the second coat to the dresser and I will post those pics later on...but what do you think of the tv cabinet?  It's amazing how paint can transform a space!  The color shows more blue tones once its applied and it is a nice subtle shade {not to turquoise~y}  This is just what that living room wall needed!  Hope you like!!!

 {heart} vintage yellow train case!

 Long story about these mini curtains...Just fixed with pom pom trim and love it!
 {Is this better mom?}
All seams are now finished :)

Ok, now I better spend some time with beanie and bird :)
