We had a good day yesterday with the exception of Lucy's first grooming {see last picture}...

I moved the way to big coffee table out of the living room so the girls could get out all the blankets and pillows and have a good snuggle...we just might keep it this way :)  At least until I find another smaller $5 table...

And here's Lucy...I about died when I picked her up from the groomer...I'm sure my face said it all!  It was horrific!!!!

A little back story...I was given a recommendation from our vet so I made an appointment with them...I told my hubby how much it was going to be and he had a fit.  I told him if he could find a cheaper place then I would cancel my appointment...let me just tell pay for what you get!  The price was too good to be true!  She doesn't even look like the same dog...she looks like an old poodle!  Hubby learned a lesson yesterday...and Lucy will only be walked in the dark until her hair grows...just kidding...well kinda...thank goodness hair grows :)
She is still our cute puppy and we love her!
Have a great rest of your week!

Grandma's Sweet Mustard

Hubby was running low on his favorite home made the girls and I made another batch...

Grandma Gloria's Champagne Mustard
2/3 cup white wine vinegar
2/3 cup dry mustard
3 whole eggs
3/4 cup sugar

 Combine sugar and mustard {mix well}
beat in eggs...add vinegar and cook with double boiler until thick {approx. 15 min} stirring frequently...

 Pour into your favorite jars...let cool before putting lids on.  Refrigerate...wait 2 weeks before using...this will improve the me it's worth the wait :)
Yields 3 small jars

We had a great mini vacation at the beach {thanks Aunt Lisa and Uncle Steve!!!}...

Before we left for the beach I made a few changes to the girls' play room... I purchased the adorable animal alphabet cards last year at a local toy store with the intention of framing them...time passed and it never got done...until last week when I found the frames on sale at Michaels for $5.  I couldn't pass them up so I grabbed a few.  I love how it brightens the space.  I also moved the dark book case into the craft room {I had been wanting something bigger in there...worked out great}

 I was looking at Pinterest a few weeks ago and saw a cute picture of Ikea spice racks being used as book cute...and for only $3.99 I had to do it!

 I had a sample can of Martha Stewart's Aegean Blue that I used on the shelves...great color for a kids room!
 Here is the book shelf's new home in the craft room...I love having more space for fabric and sewing goodies...

Hope you are having a great week...

I must admit...I've been feeling a bit uninspired lately...

We leave for the beach this weekend so hopefully a little break will do me good!

Hubby and I spotted this coffee table on the side of the road for $5...all it needed was some off white paint, a crystal nob, and some love...take a look...

 Some furniture pieces had to be moved around...the old trunk is now at the foot of our bed and this bench got moved downstairs by Lucy's room.  It's a little full but it works.  I need to make a couple more pillows to add more color.

 Lucy is such a wonderful happy dog!

We came home Saturday to her limping...of course we started to worry but after talking to some other dog owners we have come to realize that it might be growing pains...who makes me feel better to think that's all it is :)
Have a great week!

Bathroom Update & Happy 4th...

Happy 4th of July...hope you have a safe and fun holiday!

I have been itching to lighten up the downstairs friend Molly let me sample the color she uses in her home...Silver Sage from Restoration Hardware.  She had it colored matched at a local market and it turned out great!  I love this color!  It really brightened up this small space. Don't get me wrong...the color we had in there before was beautiful...I just wanted a different look.
 It looks really crisp against the white beadboard...
 Green goes well too...
 The insides of this cabinet {my dad made years ago...don't you just love it!?!} were unfinished so I got out some paint...looks a lot brighter and finished now.
 Love this stool my dad made for the is another piece of furniture that gets used multiple times a day {thanks dad!}
 Lucy went in for her shots last week...she is growing like a weed...16 1/2 pounds!
Grammy bought the girls new robes/swim cover~ups to use after swimming...they have been wearing them everyday :)
