We got our christmas tree yesterday...usually I'm the one to spot it but this year it was all hubby and he picked out a beaut!  Even though my back hurt like a mother I had to push through for the kids... {and myself too...i love christmas decorating!} I was able to get most everything up...now the house is all cozy colored in red and green...and smells wonderful!
 We have never had a tree skirt...so with left over fabric I decided to put one together...it turned out so cute...just a little too small.  I will make a larger one for next christmas.  I just couldn't bare spending $90 {or more} on a tree skirt...

 I changed out the "summer" pillow covers into my "christmas~y" pottery barn ones...easy and free :)

 the advent calendar {from ballard designs} is up and already loaded with chocolate goodies waiting to count us down to christmas...so fun...
 This will be santa's cookie & milk table :)
 The hutch has been a fun addition to decorate...it never seems to be clean...just keeping it real...
 Stalkings have been hung by the chimney with care and already have a goody in 'em...girls noticed after school today and are going crazy trying to figure out what's in there...
Hope you are finding yourself in the christmas spirit too!

Besides my back going out Friday night we have had a good weekend.  Our neighbor works for an equipment rental company and he has been putting up christmas lights throughout the neighborhood using a huge lift...hubby got to go up and help... {each house is donating money for our elementary school...to keep our p.e. teacher}  So many houses are decorated this year....it is so fun!
 Bird had the best {warmest} seat in the house...
 The girls went to grandmas Saturday to play so we could get started on the play kitchen...here are the before shots of each piece {thanks mom for all your help finding the furniture!}  We will post some "mid way" pictures later this week.
Hubby has done a great job so far {sorry I haven't been any help hubby!}
Hope you are having a wonderful long weekend!

We have been busy with arts and crafts since being off from school...we have had a couple jammie days too {the best!}  One of the crafts was making paper chains for our christmas tree...the girls and I went to the craft store and picked out a handful of christmas themed paper then I cut into strips and the girls put them together.  It was a great low mess project...and they turned out great!

Happy Thanksgiving!

 We also got a new rug for the kitchen...I love it!  It adds a lot of great color!  {thanks mom!}

 Lucy got shaved again...looks kinda silly right after having it done...looks so much better now after a few days of grow out!  She is sooooo soft...
Hubby must have gotten a hold of the camera...I found this picture this morning while posting...it cracks me up!  Gotta love my beanie!

Santa gifts are well under way...this year we are getting crafty!  We are going with a kitchen theme and so far I'm really pleased with how it's going!
Here is our inspiration picture...
 We have already purchased {second hand} the two bookshelves that we will re purpose into the refrigerator and the sink...plus an adorable shelf that we are going to use as the pantry {we found it at our local antique store and it is already painted the way we like...all we have to do is add some accessories}.  Last night I made the curtain that will go under the sink.

 I also started making a dish mat that will go next to the sink for their washed dishes :)  I bought simple/cheap aprons from the fabric store...I added a sweet little pocket and the next step is to embroider a flower made out of my scrap fabric...I couldn't be happier with how it is coming together!  It proves it doesn't have to cost a fortune to be amazing!

Hubby and I are hoping to tackle the painting and rebuilding next weekend...I will be sure to share pictures as soon as we can!

I must admit...I'm already listening to Christmas music...and I couldn't be happier!

Anywho...we are starting a new {month long} tradition for Thanksgiving...a thankful board...each day the four of us will write down what we are thankful for and clip them up.  I will save the cards and next Thanksgiving we will read through the previous years cards...should be fun to see changes in the girls' handwriting and what they were thankful for...
take a look...

We are selling a coffee table that we refinished...we had every intention of keeping it but it's too long for our space.  Hubby repainted {yes, I did say re paint...I already painted it by hand months ago...long story} with his new paint sprayer and it looks amazing!  We used high quality Benjamin Moore paint {color Decorators White} then I lightly distressed it and then sprayed a protective finish over it...we are asking $45
 48" long, 24" wide, and 20" tall

The Holiday Bazaar was a success!
Hubby and I had a blast working together and learned a ton regarding what sells and what doesn't
{kinda surprised!}.
I heard a lot of nice comments about our products and our display...it makes me so proud...and relieved that people like my sewing!  Now it's onto getting our Etsy shop up and running.

Thanks for all your support!

Will keep you posted :)
