We woke up to rain...sad! But we have made the best of it...
I made delicious oatmeal this morning and added chopped almonds, dried cherries, dried cranberries, and a little brown sugar...yummy!
 We took Beanie to pre kindergarten class that is being offered at the elementary school {getting her comfortable with the classroom and meeting kids that will be in her class this fall...great experience}
After that we went to swimming class then came home had lunch and vegged out for a half hour of tv watching before nap...I got the camera out and took some pictures from the couches point of view :)
 Watching an educational tv program I can assure you...
 love this view from the couch!
 The girls colored and played games this morning on the dining room table {that is probably the most used piece of furniture in the house...just a fun fact}
Hope you are finding yourself having a good day too!

Our day in pictures...

 We had a great day!  Grammy drove up to see the girls and went swimming with us...she bought the girls swimming goggles {you would have thought they won the lottery...they were so happy!}

This afternoon while the girls were napping I made myself an iced coffee and looked at a book {would have thought I won the lottery}!
 Lucy being her cute self!
 Kicking it outside after nap {thank goodness they are taking naps summer!}
 My sweet Beanie and her sleepy face!
 They have been wearing their goggles all day...we even took a bath just so they could look under water...makes me wish I was a kid again!
Hope you had a good at you tomorrow!

Baby Shower...

Well...I think it was a success!

Sis...I hope you had as much fun at your party as I did putting it all together!  I think you are amazing and I can't begin to tell you how special you are to me!  I love ya!
 Thank you bags filled with Hershey's hugs & kisses
 The most AMAZING ham and swiss sliders you will ever eat {have not been coated with yummy sauce or baked yet...didn't get the after pic...was to busy keeping the platter full of these little babies} Thank you Texas Molly for turning us onto these wonderful little things!
 Added little rain drops {baby shower...get it...} to Martha Stewart pom poms {clouds...}
 So bummed...I woke up this morning and almost all of the adorable cupcake wrappers had pulled away from the sad!  I ended up taking them of because they looked silly...bad move...they got super dry...sorry folks!  Lesson learned :)
 Adorable striped straws...went great with the french lemonade...
 Used old lemonade bottles as a vase...pretty darn cute! {thanks neighbor Molly for turning me onto this great french lemonade!}
 I adore these chocolate covered pretzels sticks!  So do the little ones. They are super fun and easy to make...I was up at 6:00 this morning trying not to eat the chocolate as I was assembling them...very hard to do...especially when no one is watching!
 My sis designed all the prints...I just told her what I needed and poof I had them :)  Amazing!
I made this banner to go in the boys' room...{was able to use it for the shower before handing it over}

I'm the worst at taking pictures during an event so I apologize that there are no people in these pics...
Hope you had a great weekend too!

Special shout out to my wonderful hubby who helped me a ton...thanks babe!

The three of us girls are sick and we are starting to get cranky!  I took Bird to the doctor this morning and she got some "pink medicine"...she was happy after that!
Beanie is on the mend and has been a wonderful little helper with Lucy...she has been letting her out to go potty and praising her when she goes tinkle...a great puppy owner!
 To lift our moods we decided to make smoothies...this helped a ton!  My girls love smoothies!

 She looks sweet and innocent doesn't she...?
We all had smoothies in our initial cups{mine is upstairs so I had to use hubby's} the girls got to use the stripe straws for the first time and were all smiles as they drank their smoothies.
Note to self...make smoothies more often!
Have a great weekend!

Wednesday, June 22, 2011 shower prep

The girls have been sick this week and of course it's my turn now...hopefully this will be a quick cold!
I'm hosting a baby shower for my wonderful sis~n~law this Sunday {baby #2}... and have been busy getting everything ready.  She designed the graphics {soooo cute!} and I have had a great time putting it all together!  Take a look at a few goodies...
 I used a scallop punch and used double stick tape to adhere them to a toothpick...they are double sided and will look great on top of the mini cupcakes :)

Below are the cupcake liners I will be the stripe and dot!
I also got these paper straws that I have been drooling over for months...I love them!
Have a bunch more to do and will get pictures up once everything is in place :)

All over the place...

We had a very busy weekend!  { are not in any kind of order}...

On Saturday we went to visit a friends farm in Washington {fyi...puppies and 2 hour car rides don't go well together!} The girls got to ride a pony and had a blast!  We learned that Bird gets car sick when she is watching the tv {good to know!}. Our friends have an old farmhouse and were going to garbage this amazing milk glass light...hubby and I excitedly brought it home and started painting!  It turned out fab...great job hubby!  It's really hard to take a good photo when it's in a tiny space...hope you can get the idea of how beautiful it is!

Yesterday was father's day...{happy fathers day!} I found this amazing recipe at Baked Bree {love her blog!} it's a peanut butter pie {with mini chocolate chips}...knew hubby would love it!  It was so simple to make and was a crowd pleaser!  This was the start of a new tradition :)  Visit Baked Bree to see much better photos of the desert and for the recipe!

 The girls had a sleep over with grammy Saturday night after we got home from hubby and I went out for frozen yogurt then made a stop at Goodwill.  I found this perfect sized globe $4.99...couldn't pass it up!  We also picked up some more frames to turn into chalk/magnet boards.

 Last week I ordered some baking supplies from Sweet Estelle's {totally recommend them...they were so friendly and efficient!} and had to proudly display the cupcake liners!  I got this idea from a photo I saw on Pinterest and knew I had to do it!

 Here's the farmhouse light that we rescued...this picture does not do it justice {I could say that about all my pictures...I need to take a photography they offer a cliff's notes version...ha!}
 Now here comes some random...roses from mom's garden.  They have lasted soooo long!  Thanks mom!
Had the camera out and of course bird wanted her picture taken...melts my heart!

Anywho...thanks for reading my random/all over the place post.  Hope you all had a great weekend!

Busy Weekend...Part 1

As I started writing this post...I realized this will have to be a 2 part~er...I have just too much info/photos to share for one post.

We had a very productive weekend once again!  Hubby and my dad built a fence to keep the dog out of the girls' play looks great...actually makes the space look bigger!  Hubby modified the dog run gate too...making it so Lucy can't get through :)  My mom and I bought some veggie plants and beautiful peonies  at the farmers market {will show pictures later of the raised the trellis' that hubby made}...will be in part 2

I have been wanting a file folder wall organizer {found one at Ballard...too spendy} so hubby made me one :)  Thank goodness for marrying a handy man!  We will add some pretty trim around it to finish it off but I wanted to show it off now...not bad huh?  We didn't have to buy anything...hubby had it all in the garage!

I have been busy sewing goodies for my friend...will get pics of that too as soon as I'm all finished {part 2}

Phew...that is all I have for now...will post part 2 very soon!
