With the clutter that comes with holiday decorating I have been itching to organize/minimize...and paint!  Our interior needs to be repainted and I'm becoming a bit obsessed with looking at paint colors...yes, we could just repaint using the same color but I think it's time for something that's not builders beige {ours has a pink undertone...yucky}!

I have been leaning towards soft blue gray colors...

A couple new goodies...

Here is the new chandelier we got for a steal!  I love the look it gives to the craft/guest bedroom!

 We found this beautiful antique mirror for $10 at a garage sale last weekend...I have been wanting a larger mirror in the downstairs bathroom and this was perfect.  It has a little gold accenting which I'm not to keen on but hubby likes it so it will be saved from the white paint {at least for now :}

 The girls got to go to the kid salon yesterday and get there nails painted, a little make up, and hair styled...they had a blast!
 Beanie picked out her eyeshadow and the way she wanted her hair done...beautiful girl...tons of glitter of course...

 I can't believe how tiny Birds head is!?!   So darn cute!
Have a great week!

Hello...

We had a great mini vacation at the beach {thanks Aunt Lisa and Uncle Steve!!!}...

Before we left for the beach I made a few changes to the girls' play room... I purchased the adorable animal alphabet cards last year at a local toy store with the intention of framing them...time passed and it never got done...until last week when I found the frames on sale at Michaels for $5.  I couldn't pass them up so I grabbed a few.  I love how it brightens the space.  I also moved the dark book case into the craft room {I had been wanting something bigger in there...worked out great}

 I was looking at Pinterest a few weeks ago and saw a cute picture of Ikea spice racks being used as book shelves...how cute...and for only $3.99 I had to do it!

 I had a sample can of Martha Stewart's Aegean Blue that I used on the shelves...great color for a kids room!
 Here is the book shelf's new home in the craft room...I love having more space for fabric and sewing goodies...

Hope you are having a great week...

Monday...

I must admit...I've been feeling a bit uninspired lately...

We leave for the beach this weekend so hopefully a little break will do me good!

Hubby and I spotted this coffee table on the side of the road for $5...all it needed was some off white paint, a crystal nob, and some love...take a look...

 Some furniture pieces had to be moved around...the old trunk is now at the foot of our bed and this bench got moved downstairs by Lucy's room.  It's a little full but it works.  I need to make a couple more pillows to add more color.

 Lucy is such a wonderful happy dog!

We came home Saturday to her limping...of course we started to worry but after talking to some other dog owners we have come to realize that it might be growing pains...who knows...it makes me feel better to think that's all it is :)
Have a great week!

All over the place...

We had a very busy weekend!  {Warning...pictures are not in any kind of order}...

On Saturday we went to visit a friends farm in Washington {fyi...puppies and 2 hour car rides don't go well together!} The girls got to ride a pony and had a blast!  We learned that Bird gets car sick when she is watching the tv {good to know!}. Our friends have an old farmhouse and were going to garbage this amazing milk glass light...hubby and I excitedly brought it home and started painting!  It turned out fab...great job hubby!  It's really hard to take a good photo when it's in a tiny space...hope you can get the idea of how beautiful it is!

Yesterday was father's day...{happy fathers day!} I found this amazing recipe at Baked Bree {love her blog!} it's a peanut butter pie {with mini chocolate chips}...knew hubby would love it!  It was so simple to make and was a crowd pleaser!  This was the start of a new tradition :)  Visit Baked Bree to see much better photos of the desert and for the recipe!

 The girls had a sleep over with grammy Saturday night after we got home from Washington...so hubby and I went out for frozen yogurt then made a stop at Goodwill.  I found this perfect sized globe $4.99...couldn't pass it up!  We also picked up some more frames to turn into chalk/magnet boards.

 Last week I ordered some baking supplies from Sweet Estelle's {totally recommend them...they were so friendly and efficient!} and had to proudly display the cupcake liners!  I got this idea from a photo I saw on Pinterest and knew I had to do it!

 Here's the farmhouse light that we rescued...this picture does not do it justice {I could say that about all my pictures...I need to take a photography class...do they offer a cliff's notes version...ha!}
 Now here comes some random...roses from mom's garden.  They have lasted soooo long!  Thanks mom!
Had the camera out and of course bird wanted her picture taken...melts my heart!

Anywho...thanks for reading my random/all over the place post.  Hope you all had a great weekend!

Busy Weekend...Part 1

As I started writing this post...I realized this will have to be a 2 part~er...I have just too much info/photos to share for one post.

We had a very productive weekend once again!  Hubby and my dad built a fence to keep the dog out of the girls' play area...it looks great...actually makes the space look bigger!  Hubby modified the dog run gate too...making it so Lucy can't get through :)  My mom and I bought some veggie plants and beautiful peonies  at the farmers market {will show pictures later of the raised bed...plus the trellis' that hubby made}...will be in part 2

I have been wanting a file folder wall organizer {found one at Ballard...too spendy} so hubby made me one :)  Thank goodness for marrying a handy man!  We will add some pretty trim around it to finish it off but I wanted to show it off now...not bad huh?  We didn't have to buy anything...hubby had it all in the garage!

I have been busy sewing goodies for my friend...will get pics of that too as soon as I'm all finished {part 2}

Phew...that is all I have for now...will post part 2 very soon!

New Casters...

We were at Home Depot buying boring stuff {wood, nails, and bark mulch} and came across these great casters for the hutch for super chap {$12}...couldn't resist!  We love how it looks!  It raised the hutch up at least 2 1/2 inches...it looks more like a hutch instead of a table now...

Hope you all had a great weekend!

fyi...pup is feeling much better :) thank goodness!
